De Onbekend is an exploration of distance, proximity and alienation within a foreign land. A public live-stream video records the ritualistic performance where the artist places an offering within the heart of a small village in the Netherlands; a highly-precise cast of her face, painted white in purity. The ghostly remains poetically intervene with the inhabitants and physical landscapes, whilst stretching further through integration with public audiences online, unbeknownst and unwillingly encountered.
